CRC Probation Officer Required - Manchester

Location: Manchester

You will be responsible for building a positive relationship with service users and producing a sentence plan to manage / reduce the risk of reoffending and ensure their needs are met.
This will be a hands on role where your training and judgement will be key as you will need to assess the balance between the needs of the service user against the risk to the public and take action where necessary. You will have regular meetings with service users where you will need to write in-depth reports and make alterations to their sentence plans as you see fit.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the assessment of service user risk to the public
• Produce and Implement a sentence plan that works to reduce re-offending, protect the public and meets the needs of the service user
• Ensure Service Users records are kept up to date via nDelius and OASys
• To work with Senior Probation Officers to manage service users where risk concerns are escalating
• Undertake interviews, home visits and days out with Service Users in order to sustain service user engagement and encourage their motivation to change
• Ensure effective communication channels between all internal and external partnerships
• Motivate, support and encourage Service users to successfully complete their sentence plan and ensure the consequences are known and carried out
• Support other colleagues in the business when needed and to work as part of a team
• To practice in line with organisational quality standards and work towards acheieving key performance objectives
Skills and Qualifications
• Probation Vocational Qualification (level 3) or an honours degree in a relevant subject and required training
• Experience of working and supporting service users and vulnerable adults
• Experience of motivating, supporting and reinforcing positive behaviour in individuals
• Experience of writing detailed reports, planning/coordinating work load
• Experience of multi-agency working or collaboration with stake holders
• Knowledge/understanding of risk assessment and risk assessment tools
• Awareness of Probation and recent developments in the field
